Elizabeth 'Betty' Alice (Boss) Rollins

WORCESTER/HOLDEN - Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Boss) Rollins, 89, died peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Knollwood Skilled Nursing Center, Worcester. Betty was born in Worcester, the daughter of Clayton O. Boss and Mette K. (Pedersen) Boss and lived in Holden for 46 years. Her beloved husband of 33 years, Charles H. Rollins, passed away in 1982. Betty is survived by her daughters, Susan E. Wood and her husband, Rev. Laurence M. Wood of MI, Nancy E. Jones and her husband, Richard E. Jones of AZ, and Linda L. Wilson of Holden; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in 2012 by her daughter, Julie A. Rollins. Betty graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and went on to work for State Mutual Life Assurance Co. in Worcester for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She lived 46 years in Holden and was a member of First Congregational Church in Holden. Betty was a devoted volunteer at the church’s Corner Shop and was also a member of the Chaffin's Women's Club. Betty moved to Briarwood Continuing Care Retirement Community in 2009 and leaves many dear friends there. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service honoring Betty's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton.
