Elizabeth 'Liz' A. (Ballard) Wisniewski

February 17, 1950 — April 12, 2012

HOLDEN – Elizabeth A. Wisniewski, 62, of Malden Street, died peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Thursday, April 12, 2012, after an illness. She was born in Holden on February 17, 1950, the daughter of Raymond and Mary E. (Mavretic) Ballard and lived here all of her life.



Liz graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1968 and worked at Adcare Hospital in Worcester for 15 years. Previously she worked at Himmer Ambulance in Holden and AMR Ambulance Co. in Worcester.



She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson and Chaffin Recreation Association, where she was active with its annual carnival. Liz always took a great interest in her sons’ activities and was a former Cub and Webelos Scout Den Leader for Pack 181 in Holden. She thoroughly enjoyed anything outdoors, including biking, hiking, kayaking and camping. She loved camping with her family in Bar Harbor, Maine; and will always be remembered for her love of the holidays, especially cooking for Thanksgiving and Christmas.



Liz is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband of 44 years, John M. Wisniewski; two sons, Raymond Wisniewski of Holden and Matthew Wisniewski and his wife Helen of Golden, Colorado; three sisters, Mary Louise Ballard of Worcester, Jeanne Primeau of North Conway, New Hampshire and Barbara Lemarier of Oxford; nephews and nieces.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 16, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral Mass celebrating Liz’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
