Biography
HOLDEN - Eleanor M. (Goss) Leonard, 89, of Wachusett Street, died peacefully on Saturday, November 3, 2012. Her husband of 61 years, Edward B. Leonard, died in 2007.
Born in Boston, Eleanor was the daughter of Arthur S. and Eva E. (Price) Goss. She was raised in Natick, graduated from Natick High School and has lived in Holden since 1979.
She leaves three sons, Edward A. Leonard and Walter R. Leonard both of Florida, and Ronald K. Leonard of Holden; a daughter, Lori L. Leonard of Holden; two brothers, William Goss of Charlton and Mel Goss of Worcester; a sister, Jean Cintolo of Framingham; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and a large extended family. She was predeceased by a brother, 4 sisters and a grandson, Randy Leonard.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved long motorcycle rides, going for ice cream and walking with the Holden senior walking club. She was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Auxiliary and past president of the Natick AMVETS Post 79 Auxiliary.
A private graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge Street, Worcester, MA 01603, or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
