HOLDEN – Eleanor D. (Litchfield) Benoit, 88, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Dodge Park in Worcester. She leaves three daughters, Nancy A. and her husband, Christopher L. Hatch of Harpswell, ME, Deborah J. Bryn of Maynard and Kathleen E. Haney of Epping, NH; two sons, Robert G. Quist and his wife, Mary Jane of Jefferson and Richard A. Quist of Worcester; three step-sons, David M. Benoit of Leominster, James E. Benoit and his life partner, Diane Hartford of Kingfield, ME and Thomas A. Benoit and his wife, Robin of Berwick, ME; three sisters, Evelyn Mancini of Worcester, Barbara Murray of Millbury and Linda Williams of Holden; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Carl Gunnar Quist; her second husband, Myron E. Benoit; her daughter, Janet E. Quist; her step-son, Paul R. Benoit; and three grandchildren, Jarrod M. LeComte, Christopher L. Hatch II (Kit) and Thomas D. Haney. Eleanor was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Frederic C. and Grace E. (Munroe) Litchfield and had lived most of her life in Holden. She worked at H&R Block for many years and was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Holden. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed knitting, camping, baking and reading in her spare time. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Eleanor’s family on Wednesday, April 4, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Her funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street, Holden. A private committal service will be held later in the spring at Grove Cemetery.
