WORCESTER – Elaine “Mickey” A. Laukaitis, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in the company of friends and loved ones. She was born in Millbury, the daughter of William L., Sr. and Hazel (Hart) Charpentier and had lived in Worcester since 1961.
Mickey’s loving husband of 50 years, Alphonse G. Laukaitis, passed away in 1997. She leaves a large, extended family, including many nieces, nephews, godchildren and a treasure chest of friends whom she loved dearly and without reservation. She was predeceased by a brother, William J. Charpentier, Jr. and her sister, Evelyn H. Blanchard.
Mickey was a stitcher for many years at Lieberman’s Clothing Store and Ricky Bra Company, both in Worcester. She was a member and Eucharistic minister at St. Christopher’s Church in Worcester, a founding member of the Cord of St. Joseph Rosary group in Auburn, a member of the Order of St. Benedict and Our Lady of Guadalupe Oblates and a lifetime member of the Worcester Police Association.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mickey’s family on Monday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Christopher’s Church, 950 West Boylston Street, Worcester. A committal service will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
