Elaine Helen Haddad 79 of Holden set sail on her voyage to her heavenly home on Friday, November 18, 2022, in the presence of family.
Elaine was born July 28, 1943, in Worcester to Joseph K. and Madeline (David) Haddad. She was predeceased by her sister Beverly Miriam Haddad in 1963. She is survived by cousins and friends. She also leaves her dedicated neighbors John and Donna Munn.
Elaine lived in Holden most of her life and was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School. In 1966 she graduated from The Worcester Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a Nurse in the Air Force before working as a registered nurse and later as a home health aide.
Elaine worked many jobs throughout her life and found great pleasure in taking care of the elderly. Her faith, positive attitude, acceptance of everyone in their unique situations, and humor were key in her work and life. She often said doing things for others is what brings joy.
Elaine subscribed to the philosophy that the good things in life were free, like a brilliant sunset or colorful foliage and that the simple pleasure of sharing a meal and reminiscing with family were key to feeding her soul. Her family felt so fortunate to have her love, support, and her sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.
Elaine's wishes were for no calling hours or formal services. A private graveside service and burial will be held at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. For those who wish to honor her memory it was her desire that you pause in your day to give something back to the family and community that nourishes you.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Philip G. Haddad, Jr. of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit the "Tribute Wall" on this page.
