February 16, 1947 — March 31, 2016

Biography
OAKHAM - Elaine (Daniels) Ebert, formerly of Rutland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her cherished family. She was born in West Boylston, a daughter of the late Henry G. and Winnie Mae (Boyer) Daniels.
Elaine was raised in Upton and graduated from Quinsigamond College. Elaine spent the early years of her marriage working as a teacher’s aide with special needs children.  As the years progressed, Elaine was blessed with three wonderful sons. She was kept busy tending to all their needs and keeping them on track with school and activities, always present as a proud supporter and cheerleader for them. When her children had grown, Elaine returned to the working world, first with Alden Laboratories in Holden, then as a customer service supervisor at Norton Company for 19 years.  Elaine’s retirement once again allowed her to focus on children, this time it was her grandchildren. The special relationships she had with each one of them has provided them with wonderful memories of their beloved grandma, she truly loved each of them with all of her heart. For Elaine and her family, the special trips to the beaches of Eastham on Cape Cod will forever been engrained in their memories and spirits. With grammie at their side, her eight grandchildren were able to spend countless hours enjoying the surf and searching for that special beach memento. She also enjoyed gardening and was not often seen without a camera in her hand, especially during family gathering where no one was able to escape from the household paparazzi. Elaine was able to travel in retirement and enjoyed the Caribbean, Colorado, especially Pike’s Peak and Colorado Springs, the desert southwest and Sanibel, Florida. Elaine’s devotion always carried over into her friendships as well, and her presence will be missed among her group of cherished friends.
Elaine’s passing has left a heartache in her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Charles E. “Chuck”; her three children and their families, Mark Ebert and his wife, Brittney of Plainville and their four children, Brooke, Jacob, Lucas and Chase; Daniel Ebert of Rutland and his three children, Drew, Jack and Avery, and Jon Ebert and his wife, Jessica of Hubbardston and their daughter, Alyssa; her two brothers, Terry Daniels and his wife, Brenda of Mendon and Russell Daniels of Florida; as well as 16 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the UMass Memorial Oncology Department, especially the two nurses, Nancy and Nancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Elaine’s family on Monday, April 4, from 5-8 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A private memorial service will be held for her family at later date. Elaine always loved the beauty found in flowers and her family would be honored if you chose to celebrate her beautiful life with an arrangement, which will be shared with others following her services, or a memorial donation to The Izzy Foundation for pediatric cancer (theizzyfoundation.org), PO Box 2326, Providence RI 02906.  To share a memory or leave an online condolence for the family, please visit our "guest book" on this page
