HOLDEN – Elizabeth E. (Frasco) Occhialini, 86, formerly of Flagler and Mayo Drive, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in the Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston. She was born "Isabella" in Worcester on June 3, 1924, the daughter of Pasquale and Antoinetta (Spano) Frasco, and lived in Worcester until moving to Holden in 1954.
Her husband of 37 years, Francis J. Occhialini, died in 1991. She is survived by her son, James F. Occhialini and his wife Lori of Sudbury; a daughter, Susan J. Occhialini of Jaffrey, New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kathryn Wilson, Alison and Lauren Occhialini; a brother, Nino Frasco of Anaheim, California; a sister, Aster Scarpone of Worcester; and many nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Pasquale and James Frasco, predeceased her.
Mrs. Occhialini was a Quality Control Inspector at ECC Corporation in Jefferson for 16 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, an avid Boston Red Sox fan and a lover of music and the outdoors. In life, she most enjoyed being with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 24th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 25th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Knollwood Nursing Center, Patient Activities Fund, 87 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606; or Summit ElderCare, General Fund, 277 East Mountain Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
