WORCESTER - Edwin Roland Pearson, 105, of Worcester died April 29, 2018 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He is predeceased by his wife, Astrid (Erickson) Pearson; two brothers, Roy W. Pearson and Harry W. Pearson; three sisters, Elsie M. Mason, Helen E. Pasquale and Mildred Pearson; and a nephew, D. Joel Pasquale. Proud of his Swedish heritage, he was born in the Greendale area of Worcester, the son of John and Maria (Svensson) Pearson, and lived there his entire life.
Mr. Pearson was a World War II Army Veteran, serving in the British Isles. A graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, he was an inspector of grinding wheels at Norton Company for many years, retiring in 1974. After retirement, he volunteered at a local senior community center. Our Uncle Eddie enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and touring New England by bus. We will remember his quick wit and sense of humor, while telling us stories of his extraordinary life.
Mr. Pearson is survived by his caregiver nieces, Judith C. Pearson and her daughter Kristina L. Peloquin, both of Holden, and Amy E. Pasquale of West Boylston. He is also survived by nieces, Jean E. Furlong of Palm Desert, CA, Lee Ann Mason of Asheville, NC, and Joan E. Koperniak of Jacksonville, NC; nephews, Alan W. Mason of Fredericton, NB, Canada, Harry N. Pearson of Brookfield, Randy Pearson of Barre and Corey A. Pasquale of Barre; and many beloved grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
