Edwin N. Nygard

HOLDEN – Edwin N. Nygard, 92, formerly of 15 Causeway Street, Jefferson, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005, in Holden Nursing Home.
He leaves his wife of 69 years, Rita C. (Arell) Nygard; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Paul and Elmer Nygard, and four sisters, Ellen Bernin, Esther Lindbloom, Ethel Lindquist and Elsa Granberg, predeceased him. He was born in Holden, son of Eric P. and Mary K. (Danielson) Nygard, and had lived in Jefferson since 1937. He graduated Worcester Boys Trade. He worked many years at Rutland Veterans Hospital and retired as Plant Engineer at Rutland Heights Hospital.
The funeral service for Mr. Nygard will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Activities Fund, Holden Nursing Home, 32 Mayo Drive, Holden, MA 01520.
