STERLING – Edward S. Brown, 89, of 6 Sunset Drive, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Florence “fawn” D. (Favour) Brown; two sons, Bruce H. Brown and his wife Suzanne of Holden, and Donald A. Brown and his wife Janice S. of Sterling; two grandchildren, D.J. and Lauren E. Brown, both of Sterling; nephews and nieces. A grandson, Andrew Brown, predeceased him. He was born in Clinton, son of William and Margaret (Hutchison) Brown, and lived in Sterling for the last 47 years. He graduated from Clinton High School and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran serving in the European Theater.
Mr. Brown worked for years for Colonial Press in Clinton until it’s closing, and later worked for 10 years at the Umass Medical Center. He was a 50 year member of the Trinity Lodge of Masons in Clinton and a member of the American Legion, Hyram O. Taylor Post in Sterling. He enjoyed woodcarving and woodworking.
The funeral service for Mr. Brown will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 19, in the funeral home.
