WORCESTER – Edward P. Grigas, 87, of Worcester, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Hospice Residence Worcester after an illness.
He leaves two nieces, Elizabeth Loosemore and her husband James of Rutland and Eleanor McMahon and her husband George of Cummaquid, MA; five nephews, David P. Grigas of Falmouth, Donald P. Grigas of Nashua, NH, Anthony G. Grigas of West Dennis, Jon Grigus of TX and Daniel Grigus of Kittery, ME; four great-nephews; five great-nieces; a great great niece and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Grigus of Springfield, MA. His brothers, Albert Grigus of Springfield, MA and Daniel Grigas of Rutland, predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, son of Anthony and Isabelle (Kemezis) Grigas and was a graduate of North High School. Mr. Grigas was an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II serving as an Airplane Mechanic. After his discharge, Edward was a civilian employee at the U.S. Naval Air Station in San Diego.
The funeral service for Mr. Grigas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
