WEST BOYLSTON – Edward Markiewicz, 83, of 4 Horseshoe Drive, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004, in Umass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 19 years, Sophia C. (Grabierz) Markiewicz; a son, Ronald E. Markiewicz of Gales Ferry, Connecticut; two step-daughters, Candace R. Nelson of Leicester and Susan D. Jorritsma of Spencer; a brother, Richard Markiewicz, and a sister, Jane Markiewicz, both of Worcester; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Steven and Walter Markiewicz, and two sisters, Helen Dylewic and Bernice Skowronski, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Stanley and Antomina (Lejwoda) Markiewicz. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and had worked for Woodbury & Company for 40 years before retiring in 1985.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2004, in the First Congregational Church of Spencer, 207 Main Street, Spencer. There are no calling hours. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
