BROOKFIELD/ORANGE – Edward G. LaFlame, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2011, in his home under the loving care of his wife of 62 years, Madeline V. (Goewey) LaFlame.
Edward was born in Ware on November 10, 1925, the son of Edward J. and Louisa (Crawford) LaFlam and lived in Orange for over 40 years before moving to Brookfield in 1994.
He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and worked as a car mechanic for Brewer & Carlson in Athol for several years. Previously, he had worked as a woodworker for the BHF Chair Company and the Temple Stuart Company, both in Baldwinville. As a hobby, Ed enjoyed working on cars and making crafts at home with his wife.
Besides his wife, he leaves a sister, Louisa Sorel of Ware; a brother, George LaFlam of North Brookfield; several nieces and nephews. His brother, Raymond LaFlam predeceased him.
The funeral services for Edward are private and will be held at the convenience of family. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is assisting the family with arrangements.
