Woburn – Edward E. Giannotti, 84, died peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2013, under the loving care of his family and the staff at Sterling Village, Sterling. He was born in Boston, raised in Somerville, the son of George and Angela (Moscarito) Giannotti and had lived in Woburn for many years.
Edward attended Somerville schools. He was a sergeant and artillery gun chief serving in the Mass National Guard for six years. He was an auto and truck mechanic for many years and for the last several years worked as a diesel mechanic at Boston Sand & Gravel. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy, both in Woburn.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bernice N. (Swanson) Giannotti; two sons, Robert Giannotti and his wife Lori of Rutland and Lawrence Giannotti and his wife Carla of Gold Canyon, AZ; a sister, Barbara Langone and her husband Mike of Woburn: three grandchildren, Paul, Robert and Jill Giannotti. He was predeceased by three brothers, George, Robert and Arthur Giannotti.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
