Edward L. Crawford, 94, of Princeton, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025. He is the loving husband of Marlene (Massey) Crawford, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Ed was born in Holden, the son of Lewis and Ruth (Oberg) Crawford, on May 6, 1930. He worked throughout Worcester County and parts of New Hampshire as a heavy machine operator until his retirement at age 84. He is a proud veteran of the US Navy.
Ed loved riding motorcycles. He and Marlene put several hundred thousand miles on their trusted Harley Davidsons over the years traveling up and down the East Coast. They had recently received the "Oldest Riding Couple" Award in the Americade Rally in Lake George, NY. Edward was also a handyman and loved to putter around his house. He enjoyed fixing anything and everything and was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need. Together, Marlene and Ed designed and built the log cabin of their dreams in Princeton where they would continue to make lifelong memories. Above all, Edward loved making memories with his children and grandchildren.
Along with his wife Marlene, Ed leaves behind his daughters, Lynn Howard of NH and Rae Kwiatkowski of Holden; his stepdaughters, Marcia Acosta and her husband Carlos of Worcester, and Dale D'Amore of Holden; sisters Carolyn Parker and Pearl McArthy; his 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son Mark Armstrong, 6 siblings, 2 grandchildren, and the mother of his children, Celia R. Oliver.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held privately for his family.
