CHARLTON/PAXTON - Edmund J. Wahlstrom, Jr., 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus. Born and raised in Worcester, Edmund was the son of Edmund J., Sr. and Marie (Erickson) Wahlstrom, and lived 10 years in Holden and over 20 years in Paxton before moving to Overlook Retirement Community in 2009. His beloved wife of 59 years, Marjorie A. (Monks) Wahlstrom died in 2009.
Edmund was a graduate of South High School in Worcester, class of 1946. He enlisted into the United States Army after graduating high school and served in the Army Reserves until 1953. While in the service, Edmund earned his Bachelor's Degree from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA. He later attended Clark University where he received a Master's Degree in Computer Science. He worked over 40 years at Heald Machine Co. in Worcester until his retirement. He returned back to the work force and took a position at Sovereign Bank in the Holden branch where he enjoyed helping bank customers in all aspects of their banking.
He was a member of Rose of Sharon Lodge of Masons located in Charlton. While at Overlook, he volunteered his time and served on several committees including the Marketing and Welcoming Committees, and also served as their in-house photographer.
Edmund will be lovingly remembered and missed by his two daughters, Kendra L. Wahlstrom and her husband, Gary Hawkins of Georgetown, Texas and Sandra L. Misilo and her husband, Frederick M. Misilo, Jr. of Northborough; and his grandchildren, Geoffrey M. Misilo and his wife, Amanda of Sterling and Jessica A. Misilo of Arlington, VA.
A funeral service honoring Edmund's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A, Holden. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
