HOLDEN – Edmond J. Guilbeault, Jr., 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Holden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of the late Edmond J. and Julia (Russack) Guilbeault.
Edmond’s life was centered on his deep faith and his devotion to his family. He attended and was a former member of St. George’s Church in Worcester and Prince of Peace Church in Princeton. Edmond was a quiet and mild mannered man who loved his family and enjoyed traveling with his mom to California, Canada, Bermuda, Myrtle Beach and Cape Cod.
He attended Mercy Centre and the Seven Hills Adult Day Program in Worcester where he made many friends. He was an avid Bruins fan who enjoyed dining out and spending time at the Greendale YMCA.
Edmond’s family would like to thank the staff at the Holden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Edmond, where he made many friends and enjoyed painting, music, and all daily activities.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sister, Mary A. Dowd and her husband, Michael of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a niece, Nicole Dowd and her companion, Ben Kean of Washington, D.C.; two nephews, Joshua Dowd, M.D. and his wife, Lindsay Zepel of Durham, NC and Alexander Dowd and his wife, Sarah of Schaumburg, IL; several cousins including Sandra Powers and her husband, Francis of West Boylston, Joyce Lowney and her husband, Francis of Boylston, Frances Anderson and her husband, Dennis of Webster, Barbara Larson and her companion, Jim of Charlton, Kathleen Luczyk and her husband, Bogden of Charlton and William Beaushene and his wife, Patricia of Lunenberg; and his faithful canine “nephews", Ringo and Bandit. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Richard Guilbeault and a sister, Linda Guilbeault.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Edmond’s family from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday, January 11, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Church, 114 Church Street, Jefferson where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holden Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Resident Activities Fund, 32 Mayo Drive, Holden, MA 01520.
