CLINTON/STERLING - Edgar H. Watson passed away on January 12, 2022, at Clinton Hospital after complications of an illness. He was 92 years old.
He was born in his beloved Clinton on February 21, 1929, the son of Leonard W. and Isabelle (Lufkin) Watson. He raised his family and lived in Sterling for many years and before moving back to Clinton in 2000.
He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Laurene I. (Thurlow) Watson. He leaves two sons, Mark and his wife, Linda Watson and Peter and his wife, Marcia Watson; five grandsons, Michael & Kim Watson, Jason & Jomarie Watson, Donald & Colleen Watson, Matthew Watson, and Randy & Katie Rose Watson; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ava, Olivia, Alejandro, Dylan, Brock & Blake; and his close companion of many years, Clementine (Tina) Marcinczyk, with whom he lived.
Edgar graduated from Clinton High School in 1947, where he played the trumpet in the marching band. He went on to work for The Colonial Press in Clinton for 27 years, becoming a Journeyman in the printing industry. He then worked for Arrow Composition in West Boylston for several years before retiring from the Clinton Daily Item.
Edgar was always on the go enjoying many interests over the years like traveling, camping (including a month-long family camping trip to California), Vermont Camp, sailing, hunting, fishing, skiing, house projects, gardening, and walking his dog, Ruggles. At 90, he was still delivering meals on wheels in Clinton.
