HUBBARDSTON – David E. Demars, 58, of Hale Road, died on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ramona H. (Herrera) Demars; two daughters, Renee J. Letendre and her husband Larry of Hubbardston and Michelle L. Demars and her fiancé Bret Pelaggi of Norwood; three grandchildren, Mia, Morgan and Dylan Letendre; three brothers, Douglas Demars of Worcester, Daniel Demars of Leicester and Donald Demars of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Demars and a sister, Kathleen Demars. He was born in Worcester the son of Ernest D. and Mary (Kelly) Demars and lived in Worcester before moving to Hubbardston 33 years ago.
David graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School with a concentration in welding and was a gas line welder for NEUCO (New England Utility Constructors, Inc.) in Everett for 7 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam conflict, serving three years and being discharged as a corporal. He was an avid New England Patriots fan; a great husband, father and friend and enjoyed spending time with family especially his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 25th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 26th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Worcester Road (Rte. 68), Hubbardston. The family requests donations in his memory be made to the Massachusetts Veteran's Shelter Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
