STERLING – Albert E. Cranson, 90, of Jewett Road in Sterling passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008 after a brief illness. He was born in Conway, on March 27, 1917, the son of William Joshua and Flora May (Alden) Cranson. Predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, Albert leaves his wife of sixty-nine years, Natalie B. (Greene) Cranson; a daughter, Barbara Chellel of Sterling; and three sons, Cal Cranson of Georgia and Ken and Don Cranson, both of Sterling. A daughter, Peggy Brodrick also predeceased him. Albert also leaves 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. He attended Conway and S. Deerfield Schools. He was a hard worker and his life as a farmer from birth into adulthood always stayed with him. He was happiest while gardening, cutting cordwood or producing maple syrup and he could always be talked into a game of cribbage or pitch.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Peg Broderick Memorial Scholarship Trust, c/o R.N. Brodrick, 14 Harvey Road, Worthington, MA 01098, would be appreciated.
