PRINCETON/GARDNER – David E. Calcia, 67 of Central Street, Gardner, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 17, 2009.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeanne A. (Varney) Calcia; 5 children, Marc D. Calcia of Sorrento, ME, Laura J. Williams, Kimberley L. Reding, Robyn A. Mullins all of Princeton, and James C. Calcia of Gardner; his mother, Ruth A. (Thomas) Calcia and a sister, Peggy Charette both of Holden; 22 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. He was born in Clinton, the son of the late Ernest A. Calcia and lived most of his life in Princeton before moving to Gardner 6 years ago.
David graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and attended Worcester Art Museum School. For 28 years he owned and operated a disposal company, D.E. Calcia Carting Co. in Princeton. He was an accomplished artist and sold his folk-art throughout the country.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, August 21st followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling.
