STERLING – Mabel E. (Buttrick) Perry, 101, of Redstone Hill Road, died July 28, 2007, in Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center after an illness.
Her husband of 43 years, Brewer S. Perry died in 1970. She leaves three sons, Russell C. Perry, Sr. and his friend Jay Malboeuf of Brookfield, Richard E. Perry and his wife Joan of Brooklyn, CT, and Kenneth B. Perry and his wife Yvonne of Jacksonville, AL; four grandchildren, Elaine, Russell Jr., Wayne and Carla; seven great-grandchildren, Deane, Sarah, Wayne, Trevor, Sarah, Heather and Heidi; two great great-grandchildren, Alex and Zachary; three step-grandchildren, Donald, Cindy and Tammy; eight step great-grandchildren, Megan, Brandon, Danielle, Sarah, David, Audrey, Emily and Nicholas; two step great great-grandchildren, Abigail and Gage; her dear friends, Margaret Broderick and Helen McBrayne; and her many colleagues from Clinton Hospital. She is predeceased by two grandsons, David and Rusty and her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Perry.
Mrs. Perry was born in Sterling, the daughter of Clarence A. and Mabel (Windett) Buttrick and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Becker College and worked as a medical transcriber at Clinton Hospital for 30 years retiring in 1986. She was a member and Deaconess at The First Church in Sterling and she was a member of the Sterling Historical Society.
The funeral service for Mrs. Perry will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 4th, in The First Church in Sterling, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
