RUTLAND – Doris E. (Benoit) Warrington, 90, of Highland Park Road, passed away at home on Saturday, March 19, 2011.
Her husband of 60 years, Lester H. Warrington, died in 2000. She leaves five children, Kenneth J. Warrington of Port St. Lucie, FL, Barbara A. Bocian and her husband Stephen, Chris J. Warrington and his wife Marcia, John J. Warrington and his wife Carol, and Joseph R. Warrington and his wife Donna all of Rutland; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.
She was born in Auburn, one of ten children, to Dosilva and Louise-Anne (Prefontaine) Benoit on November 7, 1920. Doris lived most of her life in Rutland where Lester and she raised their family. She was a crossing guard for 40 years at the corner of Maple Avenue and Inwood Road in Rutland before retiring in 2010. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 21st, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Warrington will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Spring burial will be held in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Patrick's Church, P.O. Box 939, Rutland, MA 01543.
