HOLDEN – Earle F. Osborne, 83, of 182 Nola Drive, a 44-year resident of Holden, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, in the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester, following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Trude (Bowman) Osborne; two sons, Glen R. Osborne and wife Janice Starr of Glastonbury, CT and Todd E. Osborne and wife Sheri of West Brookfield; a sister, Arleen West of Rotonda West, Florida; and four grandchildren; Taylor Osborne of Connecticut, Nathaniel Earle, Nicholas Earle and Kaitlyn Anne Osborne all of Massachusetts. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, son of Earle Leavaughn and Mabel Mae (Biltcliffe) Osborne, and lived in Barrington and Warwick, Rhode Island, before moving to Holden in 1962. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design.
Mr. Osborne was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was an Engineering Manager for 35 years, retiring from Federal-Mogal Corporation in 1980. He was an avid and faithful Red Sox fan, and had a great passion and talent for designing and crafting stained glass and furniture.
