Biography
HOLDEN – E. Lillian (Lawrence) Hohler, 87, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Sterling Village after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John C. and Hildur M. (Soderberg) Lawrence and had lived in the Worcester and Holden for most of her life except for the two years she lived in Sweden with her parents during the Depression.
Her loving husband of 60 years, Frederick A. Hohler passed away on August 13, 2013. She leaves a sister, Ingrid V. Lawrence and several cousins in the United States and Sweden.
Lillian was a High School of Commerce graduate and worked as a secretary at General Electric Supply Company in Worcester for 47 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Nordic Lodge #611 both in Worcester and was a former member of the Quinsigamond Val Lodge of the International Order of Good Templar’s.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service in celebration of her life at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A private committal service will be held at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 41 Whitmarsh Ave., Worcester, MA 01606.
