Biography
WESTBOROUGH - Dorothy (Rubin) Victor, age 99, died on Wednesday, May 25th in Orchard Cove in Canton.
Her husband, Carl Victor, died in 1987. She leaves a son, Daniel Victor and his wife, Ester of New York City, a daughter, Carol, wife of Dr. Jonathan Rothman of Westborough; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Sanford Rubin and by her sister Sara Rogovin.
She was born in New Bedford a daughter of Julius and Anna (Brody) Rubin and had lived in Worcester for 42 years moving to Canton 18 years ago. She owned and operated Kiddieland, a toy store in New Bedford. With her husband she owned and operated Worcester Bedding Company, which was founded by her father Julius Rubin and by her brother Sanford Rubin.
She was a loving and loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother.
At Orchard Cove she was active in communal life. She had been the chairperson of its hospitality committee and she had started and organized the Orchard Cove Community Store.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 AM, TODAY, THURSDAY, MAY 26TH IN CONGREGATION B’NAI SHALOM, AT 117 EAST MAIN STREET IN WESTBOROUGH UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester.
Memorial Observance will be held through THIS evening at the residence of Carol and Jonathan Rothman.
