WEST BOYLSTON – Dorothy S. L’Ecuyer, 76, of 19 Lancaster St., passed away in the presence of her loving family on Monday, November 29, 2004, in Umass Memorial Healthcare, after a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, Alcide J. L’Ecuyer, Jr.; three sons, retired West Boylston Police Chief Alcide A. L’Ecuyer of West Boylston, James J. L’Ecuyer of Worcester and Timothy R. L’Ecuyer of Jefferson; two daughters, Dorothy M. Harrington of West Boylston and Paulette P. Boisvert of Uxbridge; three brothers, Robert A. Meola of Worcester, Philip A. Meola and Anthony A. Meola, Jr. both of West Boylston; two sisters, Geraldine L. LaVigne of Maine and Helen M. Pepin of Worcester; 12 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Anthony A. and Myrtle Mae (Elsom) Meola, Sr., and lived 53 years in West Boylston.
Mrs. L’Ecuyer was the originator and founder of Meola’s Ice Cream, Inc. in West Boylston where she worked for 48 years. She was a member of St. Christopher’s Church, enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time with her family.
The funeral for Mrs. L’Ecuyer will be held on Saturday, December 4, from the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Christopher’s Church, 945 West Boylston Street (Rte. 12), Worcester. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, 32 Church Street, West Boylston. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 3, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Boylston Police Association or West Boylston Fire Department Ambulance Fund, both at 39 Worcester Street, West Boylston, MA 01583.
