PAXTON – Dorothy E. (Hall) Pemberton, 94, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge after an illness. She was born in Whitinsville, the daughter of William and Sara (Staff) Hall and had lived most of her life in central Massachusetts with the last 40 years in Paxton.
Her beloved husband of 20 years, Charles B. Pemberton, passed away in 1972. She leaves her sons, William L. Pemberton and his wife, Margaret of East Hampton, CT, Stephen H. Pemberton and his wife, Karen of Wallingford, CT, James H. Pemberton of Stafford, VA; her daughter, Tracy A. Poulin and her husband, Fran of Webster and Jon E. Pemberton and his wife, Laureen of Demorest, GA; ten grandchildren, Lindsay, Carrie, Meredith, Erin, Jason, Alicia, Bryana, Serena, Cassidy, and Austin; nine great-grandchildren, Camden, Connor, Jaxson, Avery, Aria, Rocco, Luca, Stella, and Casey; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Doris, Nancy, and, Mildred; and her brother, Donald.
Dorothy graduated from Northbridge High School and earned her degree in Nursing from Worcester City Hospital in 1948. She was a registered nurse for many years at the Jewish Healthcare in Worcester before retiring in 2014. Previously, she worked at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware. Dorothy was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and its Y group in Worcester and the Paxton Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 17th from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, February 18th at 11 a.m. in Riverview Cemetery, 161 Main Street, Groveland, MA.
