Dorothy J. (Palladino) Hoch

March 30, 1933 — March 8, 2016

STERLING – Dorothy "Dot" J. (Palladino) Hoch, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Clinton Hospital. She was born in New York City, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Costanzo) Palladino. Dorothy lived in many locations with her husband, Robert L. Hoch, who served in the military before settling in the Sterling and Leominster area. Her loving husband of 43 years, Robert L. Hoch, passed away in 1997. She leaves three daughters, Donna L. Salluce and her husband, Joe of Sterling, Linda L. Day and her husband, Bryan of Leominster; Debra L. MacLennan and her husband, John of Sterling; a son, Robert A. Hoch and his wife, Jeanette of Rutland; a sister, Marie Petrino of Florida; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Castagna and Gilda Risi. Dorothy was devoted to her family and enjoyed crocheting, baking, making chocolates and playing bingo and scrabble. With strong religious beliefs, Dorothy was always giving to charities that involved children. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, at Hope Chapel, 35 Chocksett Road, Sterling. A committal service will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Sterling Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564 or City of Leominster, Office of Emergency Management, 37 Carter Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
