HOLDEN – Dorothy (Manoogian) Parker, 73, of 469 Bailey Road, died Monday, December 13, 2004, in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester, after a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 27 years, Fred C. Parker, Jr.; a son, Christopher Shustak of Holden; a step-daughter, Katherine Reynolds of Worcester; three step-sons, Fred C. Parker III of Worcester, Kenneth Parker of Holden and John Parker of South Yarmouth; a sister, Evelyn Phelan of Holden; two nieces, Ann L. Phelan of South Dennis and Elizabeth Phelan of Chapel Hill, Nw Jersey. She was born in Worcester, son of Nishan and Zabell Manoogian, and lived 49 years in Holden.
Mrs. Parker graduated Commerce High School in 1949 and attended Becker College. She was a secretary in the Computer Science Dept. of WPI for 7 years, retiring in 1987. From 1950-61 she worked for G.W. Stimpson Company in Worcester. She was a Licensed Real Estate Broker, a member of the First Congregational Church of Holden and a member of the Worcester Horticultural Society in Boylston.
The funeral service for Mrs. Parker will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 17, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140.
