SOUTH YARMOUTH/HOLDEN - Dorothy P. (Tracy) Gabree, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Regal Care at Harwich after an illness. She was born in Fall River, the daughter of James V. and Irene D. (Wilcox) Tracy and had lived in Holden before moving to Cape Cod in 2002.
She leaves her loving husband of 70 years, Richard R. Gabree, Sr.; her sons, Richard R. Gabree, Jr. of Boston and David W. Gabree and his wife, Iris of Hull; her daughter, Donna M. Merhib and her husband, Steve of Rutland; her sister, Barbara Morton of Douglas; five grandchildren, Eric, Corie, Nikki, Samantha and Derek; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James Tracy; her sister, Shirley Bousquet; and her granddaughter, Danielle.
Dorothy graduated from Assumption College and was an office clerk for many years at Progressive Shippers before retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Pius Church in South Yarmouth and a former member of St. George's Church in Worcester. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed walking, the beach, camping, reading books, cooking and country line dancing.
Funeral services for Dorothy are private and will be held at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
