Dorothy (Sigel) Civin, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Maurice and Lillian (Pasman) Sigel. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Martin P. Civin, she lived her married life as a resident of Spencer, MA. and resided at The Willows, Worcester, for the last seven years.
Dorothy worked for 46 years at the Brookfield Orchards and is well known by the generations of customers who visited the orchard. She began her career there in 1966 as temporary bookkeeping help before retiring in 2012. Previously, she worked at State Mutual Life Assurance in Worcester, MA.
She leaves a daughter, Melanie Civin Kenion, and her husband, Stephen Kenion of Brighton, and two sons, Todd Civin and his wife Kate of Gardner, and Keith Civin and his partner Lisa Sloan, of Upton. Her grandchildren, Max Kenion and fiance Nisha Strong, Tori Kenion and partner, Brandon Rebuck, Julia Carco and husband, Nick, Erika Dodge and husband, Darren, Corey Civin and wife Jessica, Joshua Civin, Ben Sloan, Max Sloan, Kaitlyn Contois and Dakota Contois and fiance Chris Ellis. Her great-grandchildren Addison, Lukas and Scarlett Dodge, Marty Civin, Sadie Carco and Christopher Strong. She leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins and her brother-in-law, Buddy Carp.
Friends and relatives will gather to celebrate Dorothy's life at a Graveside Service Monday, April 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at B'nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John's Road, Worcester. Shiva will be held Tuesday, April 18 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Temple Shalom, 475 Winthrop St., Medford, MA with minyan to follow at 7:30 pm.
