Dorothy B. (Bubar) Hunt

PAXTON – Dorothy (Bubar) Hunt, 81, of 438 Marshall Street, died Sunday, October 31, 2004, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.

Her husband of 41 years, Rodney H. Hunt Jr., died in 1988. She leaves two sons, Kerry O. Hunt of New Smyrna, Florida and Raleigh E. Hunt of Oakham; three daughters, Carol L. Richert of Charlton, Penleigh J. Hunt of Auburn and Mina J. Worrick of Oakham; two sisters, Patricia V. Henderson of North Andover and Joyce M. King of Naples, Florida; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A sister, Jean Lukas, predeceased her. She was born in Provincetown, daughter of Raleigh B. and Ruby F. (Knights) Bubar, and lived in Paxton for 33 years.

Mrs. Hunt graduated from Holden High School in 1942 and from Eliot Community Hospital in Keene New Hampshire with a degree in Nursing. She served on the Executive Council of Massachusetts Cross State Trail Ride for 33 years. She was an avid antique collector and enjoyed refinishing furniture, horses and family.

A Memorial service for Mrs. Hunt will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2004, in the First Baptist Church, 1216 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private in Grove Cemetery, Holden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sweatpea Friends of Rutland Animals Inc., 338 Pommagussett Road, P.O. Box 897, Rutland, MA 01543; or to Heifer Project International, Wachusett Street, Rutland, MA 01543. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is directing arrangements.
