Dorothy (Slade) Aronson

BOCA RATON – Dorothy (Slade) Aronson, age 93, died peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Sinai Nursing Home in Boca Raton, after a period of declining health.

Born in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of William and Eileen (Segal) Slade. Dorothy grew up in Portland, Maine, where her father was in the shoe business. After graduating from Deering High School, Dorothy attended Leland Powers School of Radio and Theater. She was working at the Yankee Network in Boston when she met and eventually married Charles Aronson. They shared a marriage of nearly 60 years before Charles died in 2014.

Dorothy will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Robert “Bob” Aronson, of Sarasota, Florida; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Aronson and his wife, Allie, Jaclyn Aronson Rubin and her husband, Alex Rubin, and Spenser Aronson; her four cherished great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Linda G. Aronson of Newton. In addition to her husband Charles, she was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Joni Aronson in 2022.

Family and friends will gather for a Graveside Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 12th at B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
