HOLDEN/OAKHAM – Doris M. (Jarvis) Lonergan, 92, of Jefferson, formerly of Oakham, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Holden Nursing Home after an illness.
Her husband, Roger H. Lonergan, died in 1991. She leaves three sons, John R. Lonergan and his wife Debra of Jefferson, James H. Lonergan of Bakersfield, Vermont and David R. Lonergan of Dummerston, Vermont; a daughter, MaryAnn Davis of Jefferson; a sister, Alice M. Wadsworth of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Ian, Bryan and Jesse Lonergan, and Katherine and Stephen Davis; and a great-grandson, Anthony Davis. She was born and raised in Holden, the daughter of Almas and Rose (Guertin) Jarvis, and lived 45 years in Oakham before moving back to Jefferson in 1989. She graduated from Holden High School in 1932, and was a member of St. Thomas-A-Becket Church in South Barre.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1st, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Lonergan will be held on Thursday from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas-A-Becket Church, 398 Vernon Avenue, South Barre. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Old Turnpike Road, Oakham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oakham Historical Society, P.O. Box 236, Oakham, MA 01068.
