SUTTON - Doris (Stanhope) Field, age 97, died on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness.
Born in Worcester, Doris was the daughter of George and Hazel (Richardson) Stanhope.
Doris will be dearly missed and remembered by her children; Meredith F. Laws and her husband Carter of Exmore, VA, Malcolm S. Field of Poolesville, MD, Robert G. Field and his wife Marsha Pomeroy of Jefferson, Henry S. Field and his wife Carrie of Delmar, NY and George D. Field of Sutton. Her ten cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Henry and his wife Ali, Beatrice, Luther, Samuel, Jack, Kate, Griffen, Peter and Laurel. She is also survived by her sister Rhoda S. Yucavitch and her husband David and many cousins, nephews and nieces. She was pre-deceased by her husband Darwin in 1980, her sister Phyllis S. Laws, her brother Alan B. Stanhope and her daughter-in-law Robin E. Field.
She was a graduate of the Worcester Art Museum. She previously lived in Augusta, ME and Delmar, NY before relocating to Sutton in 1981.
Services will be private and under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
