HOLDEN – Doris F. Bolivar, 95, formerly of Shrewsbury Street, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after an illness.
She leaves two brothers, Lehman L. Bolivar and his wife Ruth of West Boylston and Kenneth J. Bolivar and his wife Stella of Fort Myers, Florida; a sister, Dolores Bragg of Rutland; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Her brother Stanley K. Bolivar predeceased her. Doris was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada, daughter of Edwin and Idella (Frederick) Bolivar and lived most of her life in Holden.
Ms. Bolivar was a housekeeper and companion for the Scott family and worked in the kitchen for Wayside Nursing Home for many years. She was a 75-year member of the Holden Grange and was a member of the Holden Senior Center.
A funeral service for Doris will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holden Nursing Home, Resident Activity Fund, 32 Mayo Drive, Holden, MA 01520.
