Donna L. Furtado

RUTLAND - Donna L. Furtado, 75, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery on July 28, 2021, with her family by her side.
Donna was born and raised in Worcester before moving to Rutland. She worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years before retiring in 2005. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and summers at Wells Beach in Maine. She also enjoyed baking, reading, and crocheting.
All who knew Donna appreciated her passion for taking photos and creating photo albums for herself, family, and friends. She will be missed dearly.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, James Furtado of Rutland; her five children, Lisa Kolofsky of Sebago, Maine, Darlene Kolofsky and her husband, Christopher, Dorene Kolofsky and her partner, Michael Poulin, Brian Furtado, all of Rutland, and James Furtado and his fiancé, Andree Lamoureux of New Braintree. She also leaves behind her brother, Ronald Provost of Worcester; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Laura and John Provost; sisters, Barbara Provost and Doris Jenkins; brothers, John and Kenneth Provost; and sons-in-law, Peter and Steven Kolofsky.
A Mass will be held at Saint Patrick’s Church in Rutland on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 11:00 am with a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rutland Fire Department or the Rutland Senior Center.
