Doneta 'Donna' Bronise Casey

STERLING - Mrs. Doneta “Donna” Bronise Casey, age 91, died peacefully at her home in Sterling, on December 2, 2016 surrounded by her family after a short illness.  Donna was recently predeceased by her husband John F. Casey of 63 years of marriage and her brother Algirdas “Al” Bartash.
She leaves behind her sons Timothy Casey and his wife Susan Ostrowski, and Shawn Casey and his wife Holly (Gamblin) Mailloux, and many nieces and nephews.  Donna was born on March 26, 1925 in Worcester, MA where she lived with her parents Rokas “Rock”  and Bronise Bartash [Bartasevicius] who immigrated from Lithuania.   She worked for a few years at Norton Co. before getting married and settling down as a wife and homemaker in Sterling, MA. Donna enjoyed painting, knitting, finding a sale, and traveling the East Coast with her husband and two children on her husband's Foxhunting field trial hobby. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and always made more friends along the way.  Donna was active in the Sterling extension service and several community activities.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Donna’s family from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling, followed by a Service of Personal Reflections at 2 p.m. Burial will be private in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling.  To share a memory or offer an online condolence visit our "Guest Book" here on this page.
