STERLING - Donald O. Wilson, 91, of Sterling, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was born in Worcester, the son of Clarence F. and Susan M. (Chase) Wilson, and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Sterling in 1965.
Donald served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Sonarman 3rd Class in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. After returning home, Donald married his loving wife of 47 years, Jeanne Romkey.
He began a career in sales, working for Woodis Supply in Worcester and later Refco Co. in Boylston, before retiring. He was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Clinton and the Hiram O. Taylor American Legion Post 189 in Sterling.
A graveside funeral service for Donald will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, at Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 209 Union Street, Clinton, MA 01510.
