RUTLAND – Donald “Duck” L. Willett, 66, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – Memorial Campus after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of Leroy E. and Elsie L. (Rondeau) Willett. He leaves his loving wife of over 18 years, Linda J. (Ottaviano) Willett; five children, Brian D. Willett of Oakham, Nicole Cloutier and her spouse, Joline of Old Orchard Beach, ME, Donald R. Sandstrom of Uxbridge, David R. Sandstrom of Rutland and Alyssa A. Sandstrom of Sturbridge; two sisters, Susan C. Fahlbeck and her husband, Robert of North Grafton and Judith A. Collette and her husband, Roger of Millbury; four grandchildren, Emma, Zach, Lexi and Halo; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Don graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. He was a rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Rutland for 36 years before retiring in 2005. Previously, he worked with his mother at H.H. Brown Shoe Company in Worcester. After retiring, Don went to work at Clariant Master Batches in Holden, Colonial Village at Four Corners Package Store in Rutland and was a part-time landscaper. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and was a former president and treasurer at the Rutland Sportsman’s Club. Don was a coach and past president of Rutland Little League and was a Pop Warner coach in Rutland. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, bowling and hosting Monday Night Sauna.
