HOLDEN – Donald L. Fogg, 88, of Tatnuck Park, Worcester, formerly of Holden, passed away at the Meadows of Leicester after a short illness. He was lovingly held by his family as he slipped from his earthly body to his spiritual one.
He was born in Worcester, son of Louis P. and Sarah L. (Baker) Fogg. He is survived by his five children, D. Jean Root of Milton, VT, Betty A. Fogg and Laura L. Nieuwenhoff of Holden, Nancy G. Davis of Charlton and Stephen L. Fogg of Waterford, CT. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three nephews including Raymond L. Fogg, Jr. of Paxton. Don was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Ethel B. (Cloues) Fogg, 2 brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter.
He graduated from North High School in 1935, and is an alumnus of WPI. After 52 years, he retired from Norton Company in 1980 as an engineer. Don was an enthusiastic member of the Norton Camera Club, receiving numerous awards as well as having photographs chosen for publication. He was also proud to be a long time member of the Rufus Putnam Masonic Lodge in Rutland, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Worcester, and the Aleppo Shrine Temple in Wilmington.
In later years, Don became a member of the MA Society of Geneologists. He traced lineage back to the Pilgrim voyage and thrilled his family with historical stories of our ancestors. Living in Tatnuck Park for 15 months, Don made many friends. He often mentioned how happy his days were there.
The funeral for Don will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 28, in the First Baptist Church, 1216 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 1216 Main Street, Holden; or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mass.
