Donald E. Johnson

HOLDEN - Donald E. Johnson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, Worcester at the age of 82. Donald was born in Attleboro, MA, son of J. Albin and Myrtle J. (Ireland) Johnson of Attleboro and Cape Cod.

Donald joined State Mutual (Hanover) in 1970 following graduation from Bryant & Clark Universities, with a BS and Master’s degree, respectively, in Business Administration. Don completed his career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Insurance, retiring after 20-year service in 2010. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, visiting Cape Cod, and tending to his yard.

Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Donna L. (Griffiths) Johnson in 2018. Donald leaves his daughter, Tracy H. Johnson and her fiancé, Kenneth C. Paharik, Jr. of Holden; a son, Evan K. Johnson of Holden; a brother Bradford H. Johnson of East Dennis, brother-in-law, Paul E. Griffiths of Mashpee, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother Robert A. Johnson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service honoring his life at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 21st at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will be held privately.
