PRINCETON/WORCESTER – Donald F. Howard, Jr., 65, formerly of Radford Road, Princeton, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a brief illness.
He leaves his daughter, Karen M. Blood and her husband of Amherst, New Hampshire; two sons, Donald F. Howard III of Worcester, and John C. Howard and his wife of East Boston; five grandchildren; an aunt; and several cousins. He was born and raised in Worcester, the son of the late Donald F. Howard, Sr. and Shirley M. (Overend) Howard Bohaker, and was predeceased by his stepfather, Warrell R. Bohaker. He lived in Princeton and Paxton before moving back to Worcester in 1997.
Donald graduated from North High School in Worcester and from Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. He was a salesman for many years. He briefly owned and operated Princeton Sporting Goods and later worked in security for Wackenhut Services, Inc. He was a member of the Leominster Sportsmen's Club, the Princeton Lions Club, Nimrod League of Holden, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to the Massachusetts Brain Injury Association, 484 Main Street #325, Worcester, MA 01604.
