Donald J. Dill

August 12, 1943 — February 18, 2015

WEST BOYLSTON - Donald J. Dill, 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 after being diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (brain cancer) 33 days earlier.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Kathleen (Caron) Dill; two daughters, Ashley and Chelsea Dill; sister, Martha Lindberg of Mesquite, TX; a brother, Ronald Dill of Copley, OH; his dear aunts, Catherine Delnore and Rachel Mahassel, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. The son of the late Donald and Rose (Abdelmaseh) Dill, he was born in Worcester.

He graduated from North High School, Worcester Industrial Technical Institute, and received BS and MS Degrees from Worcester State University. He taught at the middle school, high school, and college levels for a combined 22 years and was a self-employed computer software developer. Donald also loved teaching GED classes at Notre Dame Educational Bridge Center.

Donald held membership at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, Boy Scouts (as a scout and a leader of Troop 72 at the Cathedral), Massachusetts Teachers Association, and Guiding Light Lodge of Masons. He was a loving husband and father to his family and a true friend to all who had the honor of knowing him. Those who knew him will remember his sense of humor and quick wit. He loved traveling, cooking, snow plowing, doing math, jokes, brain teasers, and Mel Brooks movies.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Donald’s family on Friday, February 27, from 4-6 PM at Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, and on Saturday, February 28, from 2-3 PM at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester, with the funeral to follow at 3 PM.

The family requests flowers be omitted and contributions made to the St. George Orthodox Cathedral Endowment Fund, 30 Anna Street, Worcester, MA 01604. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Philip Haddad, Jr. of Miles Funeral Homes.
