WEST BOYLSTON - Donald R. Deamer, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, with his son Rick by his side. How does one sum up such an amazing father, grandfather, and person in a few paragraphs…
Dad was born February 16, 1939 to Agnes Creamer and Walter Deamer. He graduated from St. Peters Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, and then later went on to college, obtaining his Master’s Degree in Education. He taught high school history, a subject he was passionate about. He would go on to be everyone’s favorite guidance counselor at Ayer High school.
Our dad lived out loud. He so enjoyed his retirement years. As a family, we enjoyed many wonderful trips and precious time together. Dad was always on the go. He loved golfing, travel, and made multiple bridge trips as a Diamond life Master, winning multiple tournaments – he was hard to pin down! He also loved to read and garden. He was a true snowbird, traveling to Florida every winter. His last trip this year with Ellen was one of his favorites.
He leaves behind his daughter, Deborah and son-in-law, Brian Indelicato, his son Rick Deamer, two grandsons, Dominic and Matthew Indelicato, his sister, Dorothy and husband, Mike Sullivan. He also leaves behind 5 nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, all of whom he shared many wonderful moments. Our dad was an amazing educator, coach, friend, uncle, father, but grandfather was the role he cherished the most. He leaves behind a tremendous void for all that loved him. He was predeceased in death by our mother Patricia Jean-Ryan Deamer, and Marion Patricia Deamer.
Calling hours will be held at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Monday, December 11th. Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Worcester. A final thought from our dad to leave you all with, “be kind to others always, it matters. We will love you more always, dad.”
