RUTLAND – Dominic “Murph” G. Isernio, Jr., 82, of Juniper Lane, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 in UMass Memorial, Belmont Street Campus, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Nancy Marie (Clemente) Isernio; two nephews, Robert Clemente and his wife Judith of Worcester and Vincent Isernio of Cape Cod; two nieces, Linda Dinoia and Marie Traskooski both of Cape Cod; two grandnephews, Matthew Clemente of Northbridge and Nicholas Clemente of Worcester; three grandnieces, Kathryn Clemente of Worcester, Michelle Roemer of Dudley and Heather Furcillo of North Carolina; two great grandnephews, Maxsim Isernio and Jake Roemer; a great grandniece, Olivia Clemente; and a nephew-in-law, Michael Stewart of Oxford. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Isernio, a sister, Gloria Reed and a niece, Donna Stewart. He was born in Worcester the son of Dominic G. and Lucy (Aubertine) Isernio and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Rutland in 1968. He was a graduate of Commerce High School.
Murph was a Navy Veteran of World War II serving aboard the tanker USS Noxupy. He worked at Norton Company for 25 years and Warner & Swasey Company for 10 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and was an avid Yankee’s fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, P.O. Box 939, Rutland, MA 01543.
