Richard 'Dick' J. Studley

STERLING – Richard "Dick" J. Studley, 67, of John Dee Road, a lifelong resident of Sterling, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the Life Care Center of Leominster, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Judith A. (LaPalme) Studley; his son, Richard J. Studley, Jr. of Clinton; a daughter, Heidi J. Gallant and her husband Kenneth P. and loving granddaughter, Danielle M., all of Sterling; two sisters, Barbara C. Bernard of Auburn and Judith N. Rielly of Sterling; several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Walter F. and Leone M. (Delorey) Studley, and was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School.

Richard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. He worked for Stanley Tools formerly Parker Manufacturing in Worcester for 32 years, retiring as Plant Manager. He was Vice President of Parker Credit Union and a member of the Lodge of Elks #1306 in Clinton. He enjoyed carpentry and built his own home in Sterling. He was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church and enjoyed the outdoors as an avid boater and snowmobiler. He was best known as being "happy go lucky".

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 5th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Richard will be held on Monday, October 6th, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summit ElderCare, Attn: Donna Ferro, 55 Cinema Blvd., Leominster, MA 01453.
