Biography
WORCESTER – Diane C. (Solomon) Lazarus, 87, of Worcester died at St. Vincent Hospital on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Her husband of 51 years, Edwin Lazarus died in 2005. She leaves two sons, Bennett Lazarus of Worcester and Gerald Lazarus of Longmeadow; a brother, Richard Solomon of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Linda Miller; five grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Jacob, Emma and Amy Lazarus; one great grandson, Owen Lazarus. She was predeceased by her brother, David Solomon. She was born in Worcester, and was a daughter of Bennett and Gertrude (Alpert) Solomon and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Yeshiva Achei Timimim and the Tefereth Israel Synagogue. She loved to travel all over the world, the performing arts, to sing and to paint. She considered herself a semi-professional singer, who loved to perform for others. She never missed an opportunity to do so. She loved high fashion and she considered herself as a fashionable dresser. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12:00 NOON ON SUNDAY, JULY 9TH AT THE JEWISH HEALTHCARE CENTER, 629 SALISBURY STREET, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester. Immediately following the interment service, the family will have a reception at the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester until 4:30 PM, and will continue from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the residence of Diane Lazarus in Worcester.
